Elizabeth Latham is the 2nd great-grandmother of Belle Champlin (Elizabeth Latham, John Champlin, Erastus Champlin, Henry Charles Champlin, Birdie Belle Champlin).



Elizabeth Latham was born 25 Nov 1726 in Groton, New London, Connecticut, daughter of Joseph Latham and Patience Seabury. She died in 1783. She married on 9 Dec 1742 to Edward Champlin, son of John Champlin and Elizabeth Raymond. He was born about 1720 in Lyme, Connecticut and died there on 23 Jan 1809. Elizabeth and Edward are buried at The Old Stone Church cemetery in East Lyme, Connecticut. They had 11 children.

 
Edward and Elizabeth removed from Groton to East Lyme, New London, Connecticut,
before the Revolutionary War. Edward was commissioned an Ensign in the 2nd Militia Company of Lyme in 1751 by the Colonial Assembly.
